We all have times when we have sudden cravings to munch something. This recipe is a quick antidote for hunger in those busy busy hours at work or idle lazy saturday afternoons, equally.  Light, sweet, tangy, awesome..
- 3 oz Puffed rice/ murmura
 - 1/2 oz Raw peanuts
 - 15 Curry leaves, torn
 - 11/2 Green chillies, slit in fourths and halved
 - 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds
 - 1/2 tsp Mustard seeds
 - 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
 - 6 tsp Granulated sugar
 - 1/2 tsp Granular citric acid
 - 1 tsp Canola oil
 
Lightly dry roast puffed rice and peanuts separately till crunchy and keep aside.  
Add oil in a wok , add cumin and mustard seeds. Let them splutter. Stir in green chillies and curry leaves, sauté half a minute. Add turmeric powder, mix. Now add the roasted puffed rice and peanuts. Remove from flame and add sugar and citric acid, mix fast , mix thoroughly. Let it cool and store in an air tight container. Keep  munching.  Enjoy!!

ReplyDeleteyup ,with a great shelf life too. If anytime u feel the murmura is moistened as in rains,lightly dry roast on low flame stirring continously for a minute and the recipe regains its fresh taste.
